Rugby in Thailand. The Thai Pirate becomes a Pattaya Panther!

My rugby tour of Thailand continues on May 2nd & 3rd, when I will be playing for the Pattaya Panthers at their 10's tournament down in the tranquil seaside town of Pattaya.

The Panthers are putting out 2 teams this year, the Panthers and the Pattaya Exiles. Other teams are traveling from abroad and from all over Thailand.

The Pattaya tournament, once known as the Pattaya 10's, is now called the Chris Kay's Memorial Tournament, in memory of an old player who was tragically killed in the Bali bombings in 2002. Every year the tournament takes place in his memory.

An entire team has been founded in his name, Kaysies Crusaders, who take part in numerous charity events and will also be one of the 16 teams taking part.

It's going to be ace and I can't wait. The event takes place at the Horseshoe Point Resort, Pattaya on Saturday 1st and Sunday 2nd of May, and big thank you to the Panthers for agreeing to let me tag along!

If you are around the Bangkok / Pattaya area, it will be worth a day (or two) out in the sunshine with a few beers and some live rugby! What could be better?
