This week I've been lucky enough to meet up with two very popular Thai bloggers!
Steven Cleary a.k.a Steve Suphan writes great blog posts for Thai-Blogs.com. We ended up out on the mean streets of Suphanburi last week for a few beers where Steve showed me his VERY impressive scar on his foot from a recent motorbike accident, nearly took his whole big toe off!
Yowzer.
Steve's been in Thailand for 12 years now and we had a good drink and chat about many things 'Thai'. I'd say Steve won the drinking contest, which doesn't say much, Mini Me could probably drink me under the table these days, but I'm well keen for a rematch soon Steve!
And this week the famous 'Malcolm and Ciejay' showed up at our place and shared breakfast with me at the TEE Coffee Shop in Sri Prachan. Malcolm writes his very popular blog 'Retired in Thailand and Loving it' and we had a good chin wag over Eggs with Pork and Garlic ('the cornerstone of every nutritious breakfast'). Thanks to both Malcolm and Ciejay for popping in, please make sure you come see us again when you do the drive to see your family, you know where we are!
Perhaps there should be a big 'Thai Bloggers Meet-up' or something? We could book a big convention centre like the BITEC or Queen Sirikit, and hold long discussions about Thailand, politics, the Monarchy and general South East Asian issues....
Just kidding.
But, if you're in Thailand and fancy sharing breakfast or getting drunk with the Pirate, my door is open.

Looking forward to seeing you in November! Grab Khun Steve and come out to Soi Langsuan's Wine Bridge and I'll buy the first round! :)

looks like the new place is the place to be. My next trip I'm going to stop by too...don't want to feel left out.

Great stuff - very much looking forward to bumping into you Talen. It would be good to have a beer with you on your next trip :)

Your time with Steve, Malcolm and Ciejay sounded like fun. There is nothing like putting a real face to a blog :-)

Did i really win the drinking contest? Im not too sure 'bout that, Ben was in fine form all right. Look forward to the rematch, and if Lang Suan's hottest (AKA: Oakley) fancies popping along, then all the merrier. Talen could also update on his latest investigative documentary goings-on.

Hopefully I will get to see Malcolm and Ciejay on my trip North in October since I want to go back to Kanchanaburi.
I agree that its nice to put a face to the blogs.
Sadly living this far South has its downside as far as meets go.

BEN , the pleasure was all ours , we had a great visit and the breakfast was top drawer, as they say in the US . We enjoyed meeting you and chating for a bit and taking a look at TEE Coffee shop up close and personal. The door swings both ways and when the new baby is born and a little older we'll be looking for you in Whang Pho too. Ciejay sends her hello too. Malcolm
Mike can't wait to put a face to "My Thai Friend", and am really looking foward to your visit .

I think a Thai bloggers meet-up would be good, Ben, even if you are joking about it.

Very nice that members of the Thailand blogging community are meeting up when there's a chance and having a chat. From my viewpoint, fellow bloggers seem to be a very nice bunch. I'll be back in LOS mid-December so I hope I can do the same in my short time back, about 6 wks. My travel time within TH may be limited if a hoped for BKK "career opportunity" takes shape. If not, I'll definitely be eyeing north and northeastward. Ubon's high on the list because I'm just curious about it as a potential future location.

Yeah I agree it would be good for all those interested or involved to meet up, I don't think I am the best to organise though, there are others far more suitable....
