Got back from a long day in Bangkok and went to a Thai friends Wedding party.
After a few wai's and a wash, we sat down to good food and some lager and all was right with the world. The happy couple live on the same soi, in directly opposite houses... So a kind of gazebo structure was erected in the middle and all the party guests sat to eat drink and be merry.
The chefs done a really good job, here you have some really spicy noodles, some duck and the dish in the centre is called 'goong ob woonsen,' which are soft, fried noodles with spring onion, and prawns at the bottom of the pan. Really nice. They completely disappeared shortly after this pic was taken.
(bride and groom, standing centre) You rarely get bored at a Thai Wedding party, as there is always some form of stage entertainment. At this party we had some skimpily clad dancers and some bloke in an orange afro singing the night away.
But one of the best bits of the evenings entertainment was this sexy dancer who done quite a ranchy dance routine. Check it out, see what you think...
Is this too much for a Wedding party?

PS Now you've watched the last video, notice anything strange about the dancer?

Bl**dy hell Ben you get some good invites.
Looks more like a stag party than a wedding!
My guess is "she" is a Kathoey?

At stages it felt more like a stag do... couple of fellas were pi**ed out their heads, dancing almost on the stage, and really, REALLY badly, it was one of those 'oh dear' moments, altho quite amusing.
The Last dancer - all will be revealed....

Yeah I've been a few weddings and they are quite unlike home. Scantily clad women, absolutely s*t-faced chaps, loadsa food and a lot of guest who barely know bridge/groom.
Surely you're used to the same music sets at all Thai events.

Hi Jon - Yeah I know the format, they are always a little different, for instance never had a Thai bloke in orange afro singing before, but I'm used to the scantily clad dancing girls, they have become such a yawn now
if you believe that you'll believe anything

... And the girl in the last video is indeed a Khatoey! And fairly easy to spot, particulary as she was miming the whole of her set (you can't see that clearly in the vid though). It backs up my belief that if in any doubt of a persons real gender, all you need to do is pay attention to their voice....
